I advise and represent a select group of contemporary artists, artist estates, art galleries, public charities and private foundations on matters involving copyright (infringement, appropriation, fair use), trademark, rights of publicity, moral rights, complex contractual agreements and negotiations, and freedom of expression. I’m particularly interested in artists with complex practices and cases of first impression, that is to say, matters with new legal issues or controversies.
I have offices in New York City and Austin, and am admitted to practice in New York, the great state of Texas, the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
